City of Pasadena/Parsons-Harland Bartholomew Associates
EPA undertook all EIR-related assignments for the largest residential project in the City of Pasadena proposed on the former campus of the Worldwide Church of God and Ambassador College. The project implemented the City’s West Gateway Specific Plan and would have preserved some of the City’s most important turn-of-the-century mansions, as well as the Ambassador Auditorium, an internationally recognized performing arts venue. Originally conceived as a residential urban village with a major hotel and some commercial office, the project evolved into a residential urban village and a 1 million square foot technology-oriented office campus for Idealab, and then moved forward as an entirely residential urban village, due to changing market conditions. The EIR responded to the shifting needs of the project and project stakeholders including the City of Pasadena, Legacy Partners, Idealab and homeowners and preservation organizations, with minimal changes to schedule.
